Assistant Rabbi

Rabbi Benjy Rickman

Rabbi Benjy Rickman is our Assistant Rabbi and Ba’al Tefila.

As Holy Law’s Ba’al Tefila, Rabbi Rickman has inspired our community for many years.  He has served as a Ba’al Tefila since his teenage years and has davened in many different shuls throughout the world. He began as our Chazan Sheini and is now our main Ba’al Tefila.  His warm heartfelt Tefilos fused with authentic melodies and Nigunim make davening at Holy Law a very special experience.

As our Assistant Rabbi, Rabbi Rickman supports Rabbi Chazan in pastoral duties. He is available for members who have Halachic questions or who are seeking advice. Additionally, he supports members during times of grief and in happy times. He has initiated several learning programmes, such as a daily Whatsapp shiur and Friday night Dvar Torah. Additionally he set up a social justice group and is always keen to invest more time and create new opportunities for the community to connect with different aspects of Judaism.

Rabbi Rickman studied in Yeshivat Har Etzion (Gush) and was awarded Semicha from Rabbi Zalman Nechemia Goldberg and Rabbi Yaakov Moshe Poupko. He is also Head of Kodesh at King David High School. Rabbi Rickman has many years’ experience working with diverse communities, from Cape Town to Oslo. He was also involved in starting the Shenley United Synagogue in Hertfordshire.
